Comparing Yourself To Others

So when people compare themselves to others it really bugs me.
Everyone is different. Everyone has their own individual talents. Everyone has their own beauty. Everyone has their own intelligence. Not two people on this planet are the same. To compare yourself to someone as you view "better than you", in my eyes, is to disrespect yourself. Respecting ourselves can sometimes involve hard choices about what to do and what not to do. Respecting ourselves means to make the right decision for YOU.
I hate being compared to someone in a different class, or group. I am me. I do things my way. I can dance and sing at the same time; yes. I can do all of my chemical equations in physics; no. But that doesn't make me any less worth someone who can do all of their chemical equations in physics. But they probably can't sing and dance well. Every single one of us has different talents. We should not look down on ourselves because Paul in the other group can do something I can't.
Sheila at school said I'm uglier than her, don't listen to Sheila - you're beautiful.
Harry at my football club said I should go to a different team because I'm rubbish at dribbling - you go to whichever team you like, you're awesome.
We should not judge ourselves by listening to how other people compare us. We are all different and the sooner some people learn to accept that, the better.

Halloween Essentials!

Its Halloween next week (much excite!) so I thought I would let you know what my essentials are at this festive time of year!

Decorations:
So first probably comes the pumpkins because what is Halloween without a couple of good pumpkins. When I carve my own pumpkins, I go with a classic triangle-eyes-scary-mouth kinda look but there are so many things you can do with pumpkins. Also this year I have a plastic light up one to put at my door, kids wont burn themselves on it, the candle wont melt out etc.
Also at Halloween I feel bunting and table decorations are literally the cutest! Cute "Happy Halloween!" bunting makes me so happy inside. People put up fake cobwebs, spiders, ghosts and I just find it all so exciting! Table decorations are also the cutest. Check out Zoella's carving pumpkin video to see what I mean.

Costumes:
Probably one of the most enjoyable things about Halloween is being able to dress up. Costumes for Halloween range so much, you can literally be anything. Personally I'm a witch every time but the freedom is there to be anything you want. Ghost, zombie, witch, cat, LITERALLY ANYTHING. Some peoples make up 100% makes their outfits. How some people do such amazing make up is beyond me! So costumes and dressing up is ABSOLUTELY essential for a great Halloween!

Music:
Another essential of Halloween is having a great playlist for that fun night in, party or trick or treating. My playlist would include:
  • This is Halloween - The Nightmare before Christmas
  • Thriller - Michael Jackson
  • I Put a Spell on You - Hocus Pocus
  • Ghostbusters Theme
  • Time Warp - Rocky Horror Show
Just a few amazing spooky tunes to get your celebrations going!

So I hope this post helps you to get ready for the perfect Halloween, let me know if you would like this type of post for other occasions!

Being More Aware of Cancer

So this week something hit me, real hard (metaphorically speaking!). And I will try to discuss it the best I can here.
If any of you are big SprinkleOfGlitter fans you have probably seen one of her recent uploads - "My Pink Hair Story" and this is what hit me hard. (If you haven't seen it click the photo below)

In Louise's video she talks about why she died her hair pink and how Cancer took her mums life. I admire Louise for being able to post something like this on the Internet and stay so positive, but this isn't what hit me.
What hit me is that I will never never meet my Grandad. I never have, and I never will because he was also taken by Cancer. Family has such an effect on our lives and to never be able to meet one of them hurts, unexplainably. I will never hear my grandad's laugh, or see his smile, or give him a hug because the stupid disease thought it was okay to take him from me and my family. He died before I was born so I have never met him and I never will. But I'm not asking for your sympathy and there are many people out there just like me.
What I am asking is that you try and donate all you can to finding a cure for cancer. When my Grandad passed things were not as advanced as they are now and he would have more chance of surviving. So by donating you can help people like me, to no longer exist. Help find the cure to cancer!

Autumn is here!

So as I am sat here with a hot chocolate listening to the vamps new single (eek!), it hit me that it is now autumn and that makes me very happy! So this week I thought I would talk about things that make autumn my favourite season of the year!

So firstly, the arrival of autumn means hot drinks and especially - hot chocolate! Hot chocolate is something that I obsess over during autumn. Hot chocolate just has a very cosy feel, agreed? So I highly recommend you drink hot chocolate this year!!!

Another autumnal thing that I LOVE is blankets and fairy lights, like oh my gosh does it get more cute and fun than that! I think not. There is something very autumnal about snuggling up in blankets with friends or that special someone, sticking on the fairy lights and watching a film, being all cosy!

Then there;s the over sized jumpers, cute scarf's and just being allowed to dress comfy. I always associate cute big comfy jumpers with autumn. Wearing cute ankle boots and wrapping up in a scarf! So basically, I love the "fashion" during autumn.

And then there's Halloween! And while in my house, my parents refuse to go madly extravagant on the decorations, when I live alone my house will become a place of scrumptious Halloween-ness! I love the pumpkins, and the candles, and everything Halloween! FYI I am majorly into decorating places for all events, I just love it! So for me Halloween is bringing much excitement to my life right now!
And lastly, the colours of Autumn bring me so much happiness. The reds, the oranges, the browns. The colours of autumn are just gorgeous!
So I hope that you all have a great October and October means we are one month closer to Christmas :)

A Weekend In Kent

So two weeks ago (I think!) I went away to Margate with the family and this week I thought I would give you a little insight into the couple of days spent by the sea!

The Friday that we went away was at first like a normal day for all of us, parents at work and my brother and I at school. We drove down to Margate in the afternoon, Leaving at around 4 to get there at about 6:30. We stayed in an old Georgian House that had been split into three different apartments. Ours being at the very top with the best view of the beach on our doorstep! That night we walked around the sea front and went into a quiet pub for some dinner to then return home for a good nights rest!

On the Saturday we visited a theme park in Margate called "Dreamland". It was the first ever theme park in the UK and was built during the 1950's (I think!). The place was AMAZING! I have never visited a place so interesting. Although I am not a big fan of roller coasters or rides or anything like that the place was full of things to do, watch and see. There was an amazing high dive show, people dressed like they were in the 50's, and just an all round good, happy and exciting atmosphere! The place was simply so much fun with things to from ages small - BIG. If you're ever in the area of Margate I recommend the trip because it was such a fun day out!

The cutest and most colourful coffee cups ever!

Deckchairs!
On the Sunday, Unfortunately it was time to return home however we took a visit to an art gallery in the morning which contained some rather strange pieces! There was an exhibition of professional artists work and then an exhibition for amateurs. The second exhibition was my favourite, The pieces of art done by people my age was really rather inspiring! We walked around the "lanes" of shops that were hidden away, ate lunch in the CUTEST cafe ever and then set off on the journey home!

I hope you enjoyed this mini (but quite big) recount of my weekend away but it was absolutely lovely for me to remember all the things I got up to with my wonderful family!

Until Next Time x

Back to School 2015!

So majority of people in the UK are now back at school so I thought I would tell you a few things that I have done to make going back to school a little bit easier!

Firstly, BUY NEW STATIONERY! Doing this makes me slightly excited to go back to school. I seem to absolutely love buying new stationery, I don't know why but there's just something exciting about it. So if you haven't already, I recommend you go out and refill your pencil cases for the new start! Pens, Pencils, Folders anything to make your school bag slightly more snazzy than your friends!

Secondly, DON'T STRESS. I know so many people who stress over going back to school, Please Don't. My friend hates going back to school because of the people there or the work she has to do, at the end of the day school is not the be all and all. Stressing over school will not improve your grades or change the people you have to share the school experience with so try and have a more positive outlook on school. Go in, Do your best, Work hard and try and enjoy after all you have to stay in some form of education until you're 18!

Thirdly, HAVE SOME ME TIME! Don't spend all your waking hours doing school work. Once you come home from school it's your own time. Yes, do your homework but don't let homework rule your life. Each piece of homework should only take half an hour or so. Give yourself time to do things you enjoy. Pamper yourself, go out with the friends, indulge yourself!

So I hope that those three things will help going back to school slightly easier and if you have any questions or things that you do to make it easier comment them below because I'd love to know!
Until Next Time, M xx
